How to become a Civil Designer

To become a Civil Designer you are usually required to have completed some formal training, which may include a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Civil Engineering or an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology. You will also need to demonstrate proficiency CAD software.

1. Complete a qualification in civil engineering or engineering technology.
2. While you’re completing your formal training seek out internship opportunities and develop your practical experience with 12d Model and CAD programs, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads, HydroCAD, and StormCAD.
